چکیده

In this paper, a 24 GHz direct conversion receiver (DCR) for frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) ranging radar based on low flicker noise mixer in 90 nm silicon-on-insulator (SOI) CMOS technology is presented. A low-noise and low-power low-noise-amplifier (LNA) adopting simultaneous input matching (SNIM) method designed. Neutralized boost inductor are introduced to improve performance. The measurement results of standalone LNA show that the peak gain 17.2 dB at 23.8 −3 bandwidth around 2.2 from 22.8 25 GHz. achieves an average 3 NF within band. current-bleeding used lower factors influencing have been discussed. Proper element values local oscillator (LO) power chosen make low-noise. Measurement illustrate exhibits 20.3 gain, 7 SSB figure (NF) −22 dBm IP1dB. Flicker measured respectively knee-point observed 60 kHz. consumes only 16 mW with chip area 0.65 mm2 including pads. demonstrate proposed can be promising candidate FMCW radar.

Design and Analysis of a Self Biased Flicker Noise Cancelling CMOS Direct Conversion Mixer

The design of a double balanced CMOS downconversion mixer is presented with a novel calibration scheme for pulse injection flicker noise reduction. This self-biasing calibration technique enables the reduction of the mixers’ noise figure by over 20dB at baseband frequencies without any additional reference voltages, manual adjustment, or large inductors. This results in simpler IC testing and m...

A Low Flicker-Noise High Conversion Gain RF-CMOS Mixer with Differential Active Inductor

The design of a low noise figure (NF), high conversion gain (CG) double-balanced, Gilbert-cell mixer is presented. Since the noise figure of the RF CMOS mixer is strongly affected by flicker noise (1/f), a dynamic current injection technique is used to reduce the flicker noise corner frequency. The current injection circuitry comprises 3 pMOS to inject current pulses at the switching instants. ...

A Low Noise NbTiN-based 850 GHz SIS Receiver for the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory

We have developed a niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN) based superconductorinsulator-superconductor (SIS) receiver to cover the 350 micron atmospheric window. This frequency band lies entirely above the energy gap of niobium (700 GHz), a commonly used SIS superconductor. The instrument uses an open structure twin-slot SIS mixer that consists of two Nb/AlN/NbTiN tunnel junctions, NbTiN thin-film m...
